Privacy, plainly.

How Cabinlight uses browser storage, Cloudflare hosting and cookie-free visitor statistics.

This edition

Cabinlight provides static articles and two browser-based tools. It has no user accounts, newsletter, contact submission form or advertising. The website does not send your packing-list entries or bag measurements to a Cabinlight application server.

Your packing list

The packing-list tool uses your browser’s local storage to remember the selected preset, item text and checkmarks on that browser and site origin. This makes the list available when you return on the same device. It does not sync between devices.

You can replace the saved list with the tool’s reset control. To delete the stored record entirely, clear this site’s data through your browser settings. Private browsing, storage limits or browser settings may prevent saving or remove it later. Avoid entering passport numbers, medical details or other sensitive information.

Your bag measurements

The bag checker calculates the result locally in the page. It does not save the numbers in local storage or send them to a server. Reloading the page clears the entered measurements.

Language choices

When you choose a language, the site remembers that preference in local storage on this browser. On a first visit to the homepage, it can use a country code supplied by the hosting platform, then your browser language preferences, to open a supported edition. It does not request precise location permission or send your visit to a third-party IP lookup service.

The same-site language endpoint returns only a country code when the host provides one; the local preview has no real country lookup. Direct links to language editions remain available, and you can change the language at any time. Clearing this site’s browser data removes the saved preference.

Downloads and printing

Downloading the packing list creates a text file in your browser and saves it through your browser’s normal download process. Printing uses your device’s print dialog. Those actions can create a copy on your device or through the destination you select.

Website delivery

The public website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, with Cloudflare providing DNS, HTTPS and content delivery. Images and fonts are served from this website’s own files. Cloudflare processes ordinary request information, including IP addresses, request paths, timestamps and browser information, to deliver the website and maintain security. Cloudflare’s handling of that information is described in its privacy policy.

Visitor statistics

The public website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure page views, visits, referring websites, browser and device categories, countries and page performance. The browser loads Cloudflare’s analytics beacon and sends measurements to Cloudflare. These statistics help us understand use of the site and improve its pages.

Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as cookie-free and says it does not use browser storage or fingerprinting to identify visitors. The analytics integration does not read your packing-list entries, bag measurements or saved language preference. Ordinary connection information is still processed by Cloudflare when serving requests, as explained above. Read Cloudflare’s Web Analytics explanation for more information.

Browser privacy settings or content blockers may prevent the analytics beacon from loading. The articles and tools remain available when analytics is blocked.

External sources

Official-source links take you to other websites. Those organisations apply their own privacy practices and may receive ordinary request information when you visit them. We do not control their cookies or policies.

Cookies and future changes

Cabinlight does not set advertising cookies. The browser storage described above supports the packing list and your language choice. The public website’s Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use analytics cookies. If other analytics, advertising, forms or services are introduced, this policy will be reviewed and any applicable notice or consent requirements implemented before those services run.

This edition has no contact submission form or functioning contact inbox. A verified operator contact will be added when that channel is available; the website does not collect messages through a placeholder form.
